My Charities

The four charities that I chose are very close to my heart.

The Children's Tumor Foundation is one of my charities because I have two 8-year old cousins who have Neurofibromatosis. It was  hard for me to see them struggling with this disease. I want to do everything in my power to help find a cure, not only for my cousins but for others that are challenged by this disease as well.

I chose to support the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research because my Grandmother has this disease. She means so much to me and my family. I use some of her recipes in my baking and she is also one of the people who taught me how to bake! It is getting more difficult for her to bake with me, and it is hard for me to see her in pain. I want to do my very best to help her and others with Parkinson's.

The Smile Network International is a charity I support because being able to smile is something that most people take for granted. Smiling can brighten someone's day. So many people have a lack of confidence because of their cleft palate, and that is just not right. The Smile Network International fixes cleft palates so that someone can have a beautiful smile again, and regain confidence in themselves.

Feed My Starving Children is a Minnesota-based non-profit that sends meals to families, communities and schools. Hunger is such a widespread issue, and it occurs all around the world.  It is important to me that I do my part to one day eradicate this issue worldwide.

The Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF) began as the first grassroots organization solely dedicated to finding treatments for NF (Neruofibromatosis). Today, CTF is a highly recognized national nonprofit foundation, the leading force in the fight to end NF, and a model for other innovative research endeavors.

The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today.
